Gainesville commissioners pick five finalists for next city manager

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -

Gainesville city commissioners narrowed their search for a new city manager to five finalists Monday night.

Commissioner Gail Johnson was the only dissenting vote, while Commissioner Harvey Ward was absent.

The finalists will be invited for interviews on September 25th and 26th.

They include former Cincinnati City Manager Harry Black, former Fort Lauderdale City Manager Lee Feldman, Saint Petersburg Chief Financial Officer Anne Fritz, Administrator Janice Jackson from the city of Augusta in Georgia, and City Manager Howard Lazarus from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
