GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A family in Gainesville has a new home, just in time for the holidays.

Family Promise and Clayton homes donated the house to a local family who has been homeless in the past.

A ribbon-cutting event was held Tuesday afternoon as Rachael Ryan, Matthew Zovak and their 6-year-old daughter Audree saw their new home for the first time.

"It's beautiful. I love it. It's beautiful, and we own it, it's ours. So that's pretty awesome. It's a pretty awesome feeling," said Ryan.

"This is the biggest thing that happened to our family ever. It's like winning the lottery, and that doesn't happen very often," said Zovak.

They look forward to making new memories and celebrating the holidays together in their new home.
