Gainesville goes retro at the Florida Vintage Market

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -

You may want to look through your closet; "vintage" is back in style.

Dozens of vendors set up shop at Bo Diddley Plaza on Sunday afternoon for the Florida Vintage Market.

Nathalie Kanda, the event organizer, says the vintage culture has a connection with the break-dancing community.

"So our business actually started because we "break" and hip-hop culture ties into the breaking community," Kanda explained. "So that's kinda how our story started and then from there expanded to getting the market started."

The next two markets are scheduled for November 10th and December 1st.

Those who attend will see everything from retro trinkets to cool graphic t-shirts.
