Gainesville man arrested for attacking another man with knife

GAINESVILLE, Fla., (WCJB) -- A Gainesville man was arrested after being accused of cutting another man with a knife near Grace Marketplace on Wednesday evening.

According to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report, witnesses say that Charles Elton Walker, 54, was arguing with another man that escalated into a physical fight.

During the fight, witnesses claimed that Walker then pulled a knife and started cutting the victim and then fled the scene.

The victim suffered deep cuts that required stitches.

Gainesville Police located Walker after he returned to the scene where he was arrested.

He is charged with aggravated battery and is currently in the Alachua County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
