GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -
According to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Anthony Washington was pulled over on Southwest 20th Avenue in Gainesville on Saturday for failing to use a turn signal.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, he said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana.
They searched the vehicle and found small bags filled with a crystalline substance.
The reports say it tested positive for MDPV, a chemical used in the drug "bath salts."
In total, they found 45 grams of the substance.
The deputies also found an unlicensed, loaded handgun on the driver's floor.
Washington is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a bond of $450,000.
