GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -

A Gainesville man was found dead in his apartment on Friday afternoon after officers say he was hit by a car after an argument, the man behind the wheel now behind bars.

Officers say 52-year-old Derek Hall pulled up in the victim's neighbor's driveway.

That's when the victim approached Hall with an electric blower and threw it at Hall's car.

Witnesses told police Hall then accelerated and drove his car toward the victim causing him to fly 20 feet back.

The victim returned home but was later found dead by apartment management. An autopsy revealed he suffered from internal bleeding, internal bruising and fractured ribs.

Hall is charged with aggravated battery and violation of probation.

He is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a bond of more than $50,000.
