GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -- One of Gainesville's oldest buildings is up for sale.

Located on North Main Street in downtown Gainesville, Masonic Lodge No. 41 is on the market for $950,000.

Officials with the organization said they're selling the place due to its financial upkeep and their concerns that the upkeep will exceed their financial capabilities.

The group has been occupating the building since 1908, and it's listed on the U.S. historical registry.

Now they're looking for a buyer willing to partner with them, so they can continue to host public events at the location.

Garret Sutcliffe, the organization's president, said he's most concerned with the building's preservation. The money will go toward events and scholarship programs, Sutcliffe said.
