GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- A group of bicyclists made a stop in Gainesville to raise money and awareness for people with developmental disabilities.

Gear Up Florida stopped by the Arc of Alachua County located at 3303 NW 83rd St.

The group is a part of an organization called The Ability Experience and every year a team will go on a two-week trip riding their bikes to different cities in Florida.

“I started doing this five years ago,” cyclist Andre Arman said. “The second I started doing it which was just keeping a promise, I realize the power that this trip has and how much its really made a difference in the lives of the people that we visit and also in my life.”

Their next stop is Tallahassee.
