UPDATE: Florida Fish and Wildlife found Richard Preston's body floating in the Suwannee River at 10:40 P.M. Tuesday night

The body has been sent to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office searched the Suwannee River Tuesday night, August 7, 2018, for 36 year old Richard James Preston.

Deputies say that Preston was last seen getting into a boat at Ellie Ray's RV Resort, off State Route 129 between Branford and Fort Whilte, sometime between the hours of 9:00pm and 11:00pm on Friday, August 3, 2018

Preston is described as 5 foot, 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair. Deputies say he was wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt with a blue skull logo on it, and white tennis shoes.

Preston was supposedly going to go south on the river towards Shingle Creek in the Town of Suwannee, but he never arrived.

Deputies ask that you call Detective Hold at (352) 672-4346 if you have any information on Preston's disappearance.
