Gov. Scott sends letter to Florida Superintendents and School Boards
Governor Scott is outlining what school leaders must do next after signing the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act.
The state will begin active shooter training in schools every semester. Each school district must designate a school safety specialist and coordinate with their Sheriff to determine how many people will be trained.
Each district must complete a security risk assessment for each public school campus. By the beginning of the school year, each school should have at least one school resource officer.
