GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- A restaurant in Gainesville's Midtown area is closing its doors.
Grill Fresh located at 17 NW 17th St. announced on Facebook that the restaurant's property has been sold, forcing it to move out of the area.
A sign on the restaurant states that it will move to Palm Harbor in Pinellas County.
University of Florida student Stephen Lawrence said he will miss eating at the restaurant.
“I love coming here after a workout or to celebrate after an exam is done,” Lawrence said. “This is pretty much like my go-to place. I'm really sad to see it go. [I] just walked over here and didn't realize it was closing down and it's making me sad."
The Grill Fresh property is part of an ongoing controversial real estate deal and development plan that threatens many businesses in the area, including The Swamp restaurant.
