High Springs holds annual chamber of commerce banquet
The High Springs Chamber of Commerce had its annual awards banquet held at the High Springs New Century Woman's Club.
Volunteer, employee and citizen of the year awards were presented along with raffle prizes. The event served as an opportunity to not only recognize people for their work in the community but to allow business owners to network with one another.
Attendees got a chance to have dinner from Spins: Sweet & Savory, a new food venture in High Springs and a recent member of the chamber of commerce.
Spins owner, Robert Geiger said, "There are a lot of people at this event tonight that haven't met us or haven't been familiar with what we are and what we do. So this is a great mixer for us but what a lot of people don't understand is you don't have to be a business to be a part of a chamber of commerce. An individual, who wants to promote their community and be involved can join any chamber of commerce."
Organizers say this event that recognizes residents is important due to the recent growth of High Springs.
