David Washington, a homeless man who died after being hit by a car, leaves behind a life's worth of lives touched. Now, those who knew him are honoring that legacy.
A cross was placed with Washington's name near the intersection of Northwest 43rd Street and Northwest 16th Boulevard where the crash happened.
Washington's family, friends, CVS employees, and his girlfriend gathered on Monday to honor Washington's life.
Gainesville police told TV20 last week that the impact of the crash was so strong that the driver hit another car as well.
There is still no update on the driver's condition.
