GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The Alzheimer’s Association was just $3,000 shy of meeting their fundraising goal after its Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
More than 800 residents attended the walk over the weekend, raising more than $97,000 to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s several research programs.
During a ceremony preceding the walk, several local families affected by disease shared their experiences.
Organizers set a goal of $100,000. In order to reach its goal, fundraising will continue through December 20.
