GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)- Republican Incumbent Ted Yoho has served as the US House representative for the third congressional district since 2013.
During Tuesday night's election Yoho took 57.7% of the vote compared to Democratic challenger Yvonne Hayes Hinson's 42.3%.
Yoho says he's grateful for the voters who supported him all the way through.
"End of a long election season, going through the primary and going through the general. Like I said, It's just very humbling, makes you feel good that people they stand with you and they support you all the way through the end of that,” Yoho said.
Yoho raised more than $800,000 for his re-election campaign.
Hinson raised more than $36,000 for her campaign.
Yoho also says he wants to focus on accessible and affordable healthcare during his fourth term, as well as workable immigration reform.
