A new park has opened up in North Central Florida, just in time for the Summer.

There was a ribbon- cutting ceremony Friday for J.H. Anderson, Jr. Memorial Park at Rock Bluff Springs near Bell.

The 170-acre park sits on the bank of the Suwannee River, and while the springs have been accessible for years by way of the river itself, the land around it, and now the park, is open to the public.

The springs are open for boating and swimming, and park management hopes to add walking trails in the future.

Park hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
