HAWTHORNE, Fla. (WCJB) - The results are in and Hawthorne has a new city commissioner tonight. Only one of three slots on the commission was contested.

Challenger Jacquelyn Randall defeated incumbent Jimmy Floyd with a solid 76-percent of the vote. She says she'll focus on healthcare and education.

Randall, along with returning commissioner Tommie Howard and Mayor Matt Surrency, will be sworn in a week from today.

They will all serve two-year terms.
