Judge rules Florida counties must supply Spanish ballots for 2020 primary elections

Fla. (WCJB) -- Alachua, Columbia, Levy, Marion and Putnam are among 32 counties that will have to comply.

A resident of Alachua County and advocacy groups brought a lawsuit last year claiming voting materials were disenfranchising people who spoke Spanish.

They say a U.S. census bureau survey found more than 30 thousand Puerto Rican adults in the 32 counties are not proficient in English.
