Veterans Day events kick off this weekend but, not all will allow you the opportunity to get dirty and go for a rocky ride.

The Krawl'n For The Fallen event will feature off-roading and event organizers offered me the opportunity to go on a roller coaster of a ride.

This event will honor the surviving family members of law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

Christine Johnson is the founder of Off-Road United Foundation hosting the event and she said this is a topic very close to her heart.

" My brother in law was killed in the line of duty on father's day in 2003 and he left behind his wife, three children, five brothers and sisters, his in-laws, his parents along with many many nieces and nephews and an entire community," said Johnson. "He was a basketball coach, he was a softball coach. So he left behind a lot of brothers and sisters in blue."

Last year, they had roughly one thousand jeeps, two thousand people, and over 100 survivors of fallen law enforcement officers attend. The event is taking place at "The FIRM" off-road park in Starke this year for the first time they say they outgrew their previous venue.

Flying at the event will be the largest and second-largest blue line flag in the country. A truck with names of fallen officers was also brought in from Louisiana.

" Krawl'n For The Fallen is about the survivors. It's about bringing families out that have lost an officer in the line of duty to have a weekend of fun, friends, meeting new people. Knowing that they have support other than just the law enforcement community," said Johnson.

Johnson said this type of event is able to accomplish one thing in particular.

"This bridges the gap between the community and our law enforcement officers," said Johnson.

Being raffled at the event is a Jeep, that has been redone.
