Lake City Humane Society breaks ground for new facility
The Lake City Humane Society is expanding its facilities by building a new wellness center.
The Humane Society broke ground Monday morning for the 5,000 square foot James Montgomery Animal Wellness Center.
The new building will provide vet services for a discounted price.
“So we are trying to as a board to come up with a plan that we can keep our animals in homes and offer affordable vet care for the people that cannot afford it,” Lake City Humane Society Board Member Laura Hunter said.
The new facility will have a clinic and surgery room, new dog kennels, a cattery, and a new adoption center.
