Lake City's plan for mail-in ballot only option sparks controversy
At a recent city council meeting, tensions ran high as people voiced their frustrations with the council's decision to have a mail-in ballot the only option for an upcoming election.
But the council has now decided to go against their original plan despite their thoughts of it being cost effective.
"The motion was that we would have had to do a mail-in election within the next month or so and to correct the charter and now that we found an option to postpone that until March," Mayor Stephen Witt.
Council voted unanimously to cancel the mail-in September election but a traditional one will still go on. They will gather additional information about how to reduce the cost of the next March's presidential primary election
