Interview tapes released in Michael Jones murder case
New information has been released in the case of Michael Jones, the Marion County resident charged with killing his wife and four children.
Jones was arrested in September 2019 after crashing his van in Brantley County, Georgia, then telling deputies that his wife’s body was inside the van.
Jones later led detectives to a forest area where he’d dumped the bodies of the four children.
During his interviews with law enforcement, Jones talked about his money problems and marital issues, accusing his late wife Casei of verbal abuse and saying, “It was just building up,” and “Before I knew it, it was too much.”
Jones also described his feelings about being in police custody, saying he was “relieved" to be there.
A voicemail from his ex-wife Sarah has also been released: “It was a really quick switch-out, or rather visit with the kids, so I only can confirm that I saw Michael, but it’s actually been a while since I saw Casei in person. So yeah, and for what it’s worth, a lot of drama comes along with her, so I would be very surprised if this were not just some sort of stunt, if I may say so.”
Jones is currently being held at the Marion County Jail.
