Lifesouth testing for COVID-19 antibodies

NCFL (WCJB) -- Blood Bank Lifesouth will begin testing all blood donors for coronavirus antibodies.

Anyone who donates blood will be given an antibody test authorized by the FDA to determine if someone is or has ever been infected with COVID-19.

Lifesouth hopes this will allow them to locate possible plasma donors.

The bank is accepting donations of plasma from people with COVID-19 antibodies, that plasma can be used to treat critically ill patients.
