MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- It's the dog-days of summer and Marion County Animal Services is overflowing with canines. Grow your family and help a pooch in need.If your not a dog person no-worries, cats are just $17 through the month of July.

Jethro (A229985) is a three-year-old, male mixed breed dog who loves and needs a walking partner. This happy guy recently completed treatment for heartworms and lives up to his name’s origins with an abundance of energy. For Jethro, every day if a great day to be alive. Stop by and meet him today!

Kansas (A236474) is a one-year-old, female mixed breed dog. She is learning basic obedience and social etiquette through the FIDO Project as part of the Wizard of Paws group. Kansas is learning to channel the high-energy need for affection into calm and comforting cuddles. And the white heart on her chest is a fitting example of her super-sized love for people.

Troy (A218106) is a three-year-old, male mixed breed dog and Marion County Animal Services longest canine resident. He is super active and can chase a ball all day long. Most dogs beg for treats, but Troy begs for another round of fetch. If you have a good throwing arm, a fenced-in yard, and some extra time on your hands--this dog might be exactly what you’re looking for!
