DUNNELLON, Fla. (WCJB)-- According to Marion County deputies, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, deputies arrested Elizabeth Brown, 52, and Elizabeth Love, 25, for running an unlicensed family home daycare out of a residence located on 19780 Southwest Rainbow Lakes Boulevard in Dunnellon.

Deputies say, Brown created Brown Family Home Daycare in 2009, and Brown had just brought her daughter on recently on board to help her operate the illegitimate business. The business was discovered in January 2019 when a child was injured at their establishment.

On January 29, 2019, deputies responded to the daycare in reference to a 2-year old child who had sustained a fractured leg while under Brown and Love’s care.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Brown was running her daycare without proper licensing from the state of Florida. Brown said that she had been running this business for the past 10 years and that she had 13 children enrolled in her daycare.

Seven parents of the children attending the daycare gave out statements, and most of them were under the impression that the facility was licensed and regulated by the state of Florida.

Brown and Love turned themselves in at the Marion County Jail on Wednesday, and both were charged with Operating a Family Home Daycare without a License.

The daycare was closed on January 29th.
