GAINESVILLE, Fla.(WCJB)-- According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford Focus and a Honda Ridge were traveling southbound on I-75 near the Newberry Rd exit. The Ford Focus was in the right lane and the Honda Ridge was in the center lane.
Witnesses on the scene say, the driver of the Ford Focus started to change lanes from the right to the center lane. That's when its left rear collided with the Honda's right front. The Ford Focus then started to swerve to the left shoulder, and caused it to partially overturn coming to a final rest leaning upright against the metal guardrail on the left shoulder.
The driver and passenger of the Ford Focus were taken to UF Shands for minor injuries
Driver was also charged with careless driving.
