Man arrested for armed robbery after pulling knife on victim

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- Alachua County Sheriff's deputies say 27-year-old Jonathan Sweat pulled a knife on a man and stole $30 on Northeast Waldo Road Tuesday night.

Along with the help of a Gainesville Police Department K9, deputies found Sweat hiding in a backyard shed on Southeast 24th Street.

Sweat surrendered and was taken into custody.

"He was not real cooperative when he was taken into custody," Alachua County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Art Forgey said. "The one good thing, the victim did recognize who it was and was able to provide us with that lead."

Sweat was also booked on four warrants with a total bond of $8,000.
