Marion County 3 vehicle crash on SR 40 leaves 1 dead

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- A three-vehicle crash left one dead in Marion County Tuesday afternoon. Florida Highway Patrol said at 3:45 pm a man driving a Saturn was heading east on State Road 40 approaching the intersection of SE 189 Avenue.

Troopers said the Saturn slowed to turn at the intersection and a Cadillac following behind rear-ended the Saturn knocking it into oncoming traffic. Heading westbound was a Semi-tractor trailer that collided with the Saturn.

The driver of the Saturn was taken to Ocala Regional Hospital where he was declared deceased. His name has not yet been released.

The other two drivers didn't sustain serious injuries.
