Marion County Supervisor of Elections warns against unofficial letters

MARION COUNTY, Fla (WCJB) -- The Marion County Supervisor of Elections is putting out a warning to residents about a letter they might get in the mail.

Residents may be getting unofficial registration mailings that could have misleading information.

The letters will come from the Voter Participation Center and center for voter information and will be mailed in June and in September. The Marion County Supervisor of Elections Office says they are in no way affiliated with the letters.

According to the Voter Participation Center's website, "The Voter Participation Center’s mission is to increase civic engagement among the Rising American Electorate: unmarried women, people of color, and millennials." The group is a non-profit organization.
