OCALA, Fla. (WCJB)-- High school students in Marion County had the chance on Wednesday morning to speak to employers on what it takes to be successful.
Healthcare, construction, and technology employers shared their knowledge about the workforce.
They gave advice on the types of skills and education that’s needed to work in their fields.
Students also had the chance to learn communication and time management skills to enhance their job performance.
“It’s a very tight labor market and they have to do everything in their power to be competitive so their touching base with these students to talk about their career paths, career opportunities in their industry,” Career Center & Business Services Officer Brenda Chrisman said.
The 4th Annual Youth Career Expo will continue on Thursday, February 14 for middle school students starting at 10:30 a-m. A Young Adult Job Fair for ages 16 to 24 will be held on May 15 at the Hilton Ocala Hotel from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
