GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- A medical center and a senior living community teamed up to offer advice on how to care for seniors in healthcare.
North Florida Regional Medical Center and The Village at Gainesville held the 10th annual Geriatric Symposium .
Health professionals discussed ways to improve the lives of citizens 65 years and older.
Topics included legal issues in disability planning and depression.
“The population is aging,” said Alena Trella, NFRMC senior healthcare centers director. “We have the younger aging population of 65 and that is growing and we have those of the aging population 85 and up and taking care of those two areas of geriatrics is very different. So forums like this help bring that to the forefront."
