Member of Gator Football staff charged with aggravated stalking

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — UPDATE (06/11/2019): Otis Yelverton had his charges dismissed according to a Case Action Report filed on June 10.

A member of the Gator Football staff was arrested and charged with cyber-stalking on Monday.

Otis Yelverton, 51, serves as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel on Dan Mullen's staff; the University Athletic Association confirms to TV20 Yelverton has been placed on leave in light of the arrest.

An ASO arrest report shows that after Yelverton's relationship ended with his girlfriend, he called, text messaged and Facebook messaged her over 40 times with many of them sent after she told him to stop.

Yelverton also left a threatening voice message saying that he would "blow up" her car.

The report also mentioned that his ex-girlfriend has made a previous report to ASO requesting that he stop contacting her.

Yelverton is charged with aggravated stalking. He is in the Alachua County Jail with no bond set.

Yelverton joined the UF Football staff prior to last season; he specializes in recruiting.
