LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) --
The life and legacy of a long-time North Florida Regional Planning Council member and teacher is being remembered.
Residents gathered for the funeral service of James Montgomery, fondly known as "Mr. Mont," on Saturday.
The memorial was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake City. Montgomery was a teacher in Columbia county and for Florida Gateway College before retiring.
Montgomery also served as a county commissioner for 28 years.
