Missing Columbia County teen found dead

Just four hours after alerting the public to Katlynne Hayes’ disappearance Thursday night, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook she was found dead.
Deputies said the 17-year-old had last been seen in the area of Vista Road between Pinemount Road and Birley Avenue.
“It is with profound sadness that we let you know she is deceased,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.
Detectives said Hayes’ family has been notified and the investigation is ongoing.
