A Marion County mother is speaking out after her 3-month-old son's life was saved due to the quick actions of a sheriff's deputy.

The baby has made a full recovery. And the child's mother says she gives thanks to both the deputy and the Lord.

Nechole Crowell Said, "I just wanted him to get the praise that he's getting for helping to save Kingston."

Nechole Crowell says she'll never forget the actions that Sheriff's Deputy Jeremie Nix took to save her son's life.

Nechole Crowell said, "I remember sayings please don’t let my baby die, I didn't want to have to deal with losing my dad and losing my son. I was just praying really hard to have my baby here with me."

Crowell was traveling along the intersection of SE Lake Weir Avenue and SE17th Street, when for some unknown reason Kingston began to lose consciousness.

Deputy Nix who was close by ran up and began performing CPR.

And when that didn't work, he put Kingston in one hand and gave him a four alarm police escort to the hospital.

Jeremie Nix said, "I realized that he didn't have any time left. We didn't have time to wait on the ambulance. You see in the video that once I got him breathing a little bit, but I still didn’t hear an ambulance coming so at that point I knew I had to make a decision.”

And that decision turned out to be a lifesaving one.

Doctors and medics were able to revive Kingston and he has since made a full recovery.

Crowell and Nix say it was nothing, but gods plan working itself out through them both.

Jeremie Nix said, "There's no question in my mind that God put me right where he needed me to be at the right time to help Kingston and Nechole. And He deserves the honor and the glory for it. And this guy, he's our testimony right here and he will be for a long time."

And for that thought alone Nechole says she'll continue putting her faith in not just the man upstairs, but in law enforcement as well.
