Monthly index reports show growth in consumer confidence
As Florida's unemployment rate reached historic lows, reports have shown growth in consumer confidence.
The monthly index released by the University of Florida increased in December by .7 of a point to 100.1.
Of the five components in the survey, opinions as to whether this is a good time to buy a major household item and the outlook of U.S. economic conditions over the next year and the next five years all rose.
Views of personal financial situations compared with a year ago and expectations for the next year both fell.
