The crowded field of hopefuls to replace outgoing Congressman Ted Yoho is growing.

Former Gainesville city commissioner Todd Chase announced Friday evening that he is exploring a run for the GOP nomination in Congressional District 3.

Chase is a retired navy commander who has been a businessman in Gainesville for almost 20 years.

Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn is also at the exploration stage.

Kat Cammack, Joe Dallas Milliardo, Matthew Raines, Judson Sapp, and Amy Pope Wells are republicans who are running. Democrats Phil Dodds and Tom Wells have also filed.
