New President of UF Health and VP of Health Affairs

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- It's official there is a new Senior Vice President for Health Affairs at UF and President of UF Health.

Dr. David Nelson has already served in the position on an interim basis, while also being a professor in the college of medicine. He oversees campuses in Gainesville and Jacksonville, including six health science colleges, nine research centers, two hospitals, and 100 physician practices.

Nelson has won several awards throughout his career, including awards from the Association of American Medical Colleges and the FDA.
