GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -- North Florida Regional Medical Center is growing.
Hospital officials announced a new construction project to expand the South Tower.
The project will add three floors to the tower.
The expansion will feature 78 private patient rooms.
A new 850 spot parking garage is also being constructed to accommodate the additions.
"As we continue to grow and expand and deepen our service lines, there needs to be more capacity and so part of this is just adding capacity to the hospital," said Eric Lawson, CEO of NFRMC.
The project will cost an estimated 90 million dollars.
The hospital expects the facilities will also create nearly 270 new jobs.
