North central Florida exceeds state average in immunizations

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- With rising concerns over a spreading measles outbreak, the Florida Department of Health has released its inoculation rates county by county.

The survey was conducted among kindergartners in the current school year. Florida's average is 93.8% of kindergarten-aged children.

North central Florida rates are as follows:

Alachua - 94.2%
Bradford - 95.1%
Columbia - 94.3%
Dixie - 98.0%
Levy - 97.2%
Marion - 94.9%
Union - 96.4%
