OCALA, Fla. (WCJB)-- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Chewy Inc. after a worker died at the company’s Ocala distribution facility.
The worker was operating a stand-up industrial truck. OSHA has cited the company for exposing employees to struck-by and crushing hazards. The company faces $14,323 in penalties, the maximum allowed by law.
Chewy Inc. has 15 business days upon receiving the citations and proposed penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
