GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The Oaks Mall Carnival in Gainesville is in full swing until February 18, 2019.
A new company has taken over the carnival this year, and the location has moved to the front parking lot of the mall on the corner of Southwest 62nd Boulevard.
“We have daily inspections that we go through. It’s an everyday operation that we just have to take seriously, we do take seriously. We do it for the kids, the people,” said safety manager Bobby Belan.
Belan says they've heard positive feedback from the community about the new changes this year, and if the good turnout continues, the carnival could be back in Gainesville again soon.
“Make it like an annual thing, even expand to the fall If the community shows they want us here and it’s a good showing, we’ll definitely come back,” said Belan.
After Gainesville, the carnival will head to Ocala.
It will be at Trinity Catholic High School starting Thursday, February 21 until Sunday the 24th.
