Ocala-Marion Veterans Memorial Parks holds Veterans Day Celebration

OCALA, Fla.(WCJB)-- A Veterans Day Celebration took place at the Ocala-Marion County Veterans Memorial Park today.

The ceremony was presented by Marion County public schools. There were nearly 3,000 students there representing every public school in the county. Most of the ceremony was performed by the band, chorus, and JROTC students, including the Pledge of Allegiance, The National Anthem, and more than a half-dozen other songs.

"It also shows our veterans that we don't forget about them. We choose to be in school when most other districts are out so that our students can actively participate and learn about veterans and what they've done for us," said Kevin Christian, the Public Relations Director for Marion County Public Schools.

Also participating in the events today were many of the law enforcement and armed services groups from Marion County and Orlando.
