OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - A man from Ocala is under arrest, accused of paying a hitman to murder a police informant.

On January 14th Richard Lanctot was shot to death inside a tent at a campsite near Northwest Blitchton Road.

A two-month investigation determined that 53-year-old Allison Mells paid several thousand dollars to LaMathis "Breadboy" Hamilton to kill Lanctot.

Police say Lanctot had made several drug deals with Mells' son Kenneth Mells, who has been arrested several times on drug charges.

Hamilton is in jail for murder, while Mells faces a charge of "Principal to first-degree murder."
