(WCJB)-- Following the news that another hospital has been taken away from the owner of Regional General Hospital, Williston city leaders plan to talk about what to do here.
A judge in Oklahoma has taken away ownership of Fairfax Community Hospital from entities owned by Jorge Perez, who owns the hospital in Williston.
KJRH television reports employees at Fairfax haven't been paid for a month. Sources close to the situation tell us Regional General has missed paydays recently.
Judge John Kane determined the owner had all but abandoned the hospital and gave control of it to the town of Fairfax.
Next Tuesday, an item on the Williston City Council agenda calls for "discussion with possible action... Regarding hospital license and certificate of need." The item was requested by Levy County commissioner Matt Brooks and former RGH employee Pete Burger, who tells tv20 the hospital is in danger of losing its state certificate.
