GAINESVILLE, Fla (WCJB) -- Olympic gold medalist and activist Aly Raisman will be speaking at the University of Florida on Tuesday.
Raisman, who led both the 2012 and 2016 US Gymnastics teams to gold medal wins, will speak at the University of Florida Auditorium in an event hosted by the university's ACCENT Speakers Bureau.
Apart from her athletic career, Raisman has been an advocate for greater transparency from USA Gymnastics in the wake of the sexual abuse trials of Larry Nassar.
Raisman came forward as a victim of Nassar and filed suit against USA Gymnastics for their handling of the allegations.
The event is free and will consist of a moderated Q&A, followed by a round of questions from students.
Tickets are available from 10 AM to 5 PM Monday and from 10 AM to 3 PM Tuesday.
Doors for the event will open at 6:30 PM, and the event itself will begin at 7:30 PM.
