One killed, multiple injured in Levy County crash

A 40-year-old man died Friday night after state troopers said he steered into the path of another vehicle and was hit.
The wreck happened around 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 121 and Northeast 75th Street in Levy County.
Troopers said Shawn Edward Gyovai, of Williston, was traveling west on Northeast 75th Street when he entered an intersection in front of another vehicle.
Gyovai’s car was hit, resulting in his death. His passenger, 37-year-old Brett Anthony Folks from Gainesville, was hospitalized in serious condition at UF Health.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle both suffered minor injuries.
It’s unknown which driver, if either, ran the red light. Charges are pending the result of the investigation.
