MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -- Marion County Commissioners are discussing how to regulate panhandling.
While no decision has been made on how to proceed, commissioners discussed the possibility of putting up signs to encourage drivers not to give money to people on the side of the road.
They may ask F-DOT for help in managing the medians where panhandling occurs.
The county had an ordinance against panhandling but it is considered to be legally unenforceable.
Commissioners say more discussion will be needed before they decide how to move forward.
