A 50-year-old man was rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said another driver hit him.

According to FHP, Angel Jennings, of Dunnellon, was traveling on Southwest 140th Avenue north of County Road 484 when his vehicle became disabled.

Jennings got out of his car and was standing behind it.

Troopers said another vehicle, being driven by a 19-year-old woman, was heading north when she tried to swerve to avoid Jennings and his car. She was unsuccessful and hit both.

Jennings was rushed to Ocala Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

The other driver and her 15-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
