Putnam County superintendent addresses safety concerns

PUTNAM CO., Fla. (WCJB) - The superintendent of schools in Putnam County is reassuring parents about safety after two students in less than a month brought guns to campus.

Most recently, deputies arrested a 13-year-old at Jenkins Middle School found with two guns and two knives.

Superintendent Rick Surrency looked to reassure parents and build on steps being taken to address the issue, saying in a statement: "I want to emphasize the importance of a 'see something, say something' culture in the district."
